Jackbox Games and More, 3:00-4:00+
Ms Lu saw the idea for playing Jackbox games on a forum for librarians and thought it sounded like a lot of fun, so we purchased some of the Jackbox game sets. These are online versions of old party games, like the Dictionary Game. We'll be using the family friendly settings for these games, but we are limiting the ages to kids grade 5 and up. Besides being a little edgy, the games move fast, and younger kids would have a hard time keeping up.
Players can come to the library and use our computers, or bring your own device to play. It works on phones, tablets, Xbox One, PS4, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and more. We can also connect through Zoom and you can play from home. (It isn't as much fun if we can't share our screen with you.) The first 8 people to go to jackbox.tv and login with the room code we'll share get to play the game. The rest of the people are the audience and can vote on their favorite answers for most of the games.
Once we find out who likes to play, we will probably branch out and try some games on other platforms. We want to find the ones that work best for our participants.
+ Players can leave at any time, but if we're having a lot of fun we may continue to play a bit beyond 4:00 p.m. We will not go beyond 4:30.
